Highlander: The Animated Movie (1): For seven centuries the world has been living in ignorance, since a meteorite destroyed almost everything the human race had built throughout the millenia.

For seven centuries the world has been dominated by Kortan, the evil Immortal who rules from his fortress city of Mogonda The other Immortals have renounced fighting among themselves and sworn to preserve the knowledge lost to humanity; they are called the Jettators.

The Immortals have always lived alongside humans on Earth. They are like them but not of them. As they hide from Kortan they await the arrival of the Last of the MacLeods, the one who will one day come to confront the evil tyrant, the one with whom they will share their knowledge and who will use it to free the human race.

For seven centuries Ramirez, the oldest and noblest of the Immortals, has waited for the arrival of the hero he must initiate, protect and guide until he is ready to meet Kortan. Finally the day is at hand! After seven centuries, he has come.. His name is Quentin MacLeod. He is the Highlander...

In this variation of the Highlander series, when one Immortal takes another's life, they do not take the victim's power, the victor takes the "knowledge" that the defeated had. (Public Service Announcement, "Knowledge IS Power".)

This movie is well suited for "family audiences", the next movie, "The Search for Vengeance" might not be as well suited for "younger audiences".

Highlander: The Search for Vengeance: is an animated film and an installment of the cult Highlander franchise. The film was directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri (Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust) and was written by David Abramowitz, also the writer for Highlander: The Series, Highlander: The Raven and Highlander: The Source. The film was a joint venture between Imagi Animation Studios and Madhouse Studio, with Imagi providing the script and the soundtrack, while Madhouse produced the animation.

It is suggested that the above 18 years of age crowd watch this one first, before showing said film to younger audiences. Nothing major is contained within (save for brief images of quick and ugly violence, and a few other "dystopian future themes"), however there is quite a lot of them in rapid succession to the others.
