Galaxy Quest

Galaxy Quest!

For four years (instead of a "five year mission"), the courageous crew of the NSEA Protector donned their uniforms and set out on thrilling and often dangerous missions in space, then their series was cancelled.

Twenty years later, the five stars of the classic '70s series "Galaxy Quest" are still in costume, making appearances at sci-fi conventions for legions of die-hard fans - but some of those fans are a little more far out than the actors could have ever imagined.

A group of aliens who have mistaken intercepted television transmissions for "historical documents" arrive at a convention and whisk "Commander Peter Quincy Taggart" and his crew into space to help them in their all-too-real war against a deadly adversary. With no script, no director and no clue about real space travel (it could have been worse; they could have actually HAD a plan), the actors have to turn in the performances of their lives to become the heroes they need to be.

This movie parodies a lot of shows like and not limited to Star Trek (Original), Babylon 5, Space 1999, Doctor Who, and a whole lot of others. Amongst the most funny one-liners are:

"This episode was badly written!" (Some episodes of a lot of series would be helpful if they HAD a script, but then again, maybe not)

"I remember here! I died here! ("This isn't the show, Fred, this is REAL LIFE!) "Ever so helpful!"

I don't see what is so special about this room, all I see is a steel bridge with a couple of fans underneath!" (Look Up).

Not to mention the joke that the "Omega 13", while being a plot device and all that, is real "pill" to get to!
